Owners: Alvaro and Marina Espinoza.

Vineyards: Finca Escorial was planted from 2000. 7.5ha. Carmenère, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot. | Home vineyard is 0.25ha of dry farmed Cabernet which is Marina’s mum’s house. Also bought land towards Perez Cruz in Maipo for Grenache Noir and Carmenère. Alvaro’s mum has Carmenère in El Estuche, 2ha, low yield – goes to Antiyal. Also Finca Los Olivos.

Biodynamic certification: 2009 IMO/Demeter. | 2016 Demeter certified Biodynamic.

2009 Kuyen: From Finca Escorial. Planted from 2000. 7.5ha. 40% Syrah, 37% Cabernet, 21% Carmenere, 2% Petit Verdot. Destemmed. Whole berries. 3 year old vines.

Antiyal Red, Maipo Valley: Antiyal is a Mapuche word meaning “sons of the sun”. Sourced from the Antiyal Vineyard and San Lorenzo Vineyard. Chile’s first “garage wine.” 2008 Dense and wild, ripe blackberry and redcurrants. 1998: Debut. 50% Carmenere & 35% Cabernet Sauvignon + 15% Syrah. Aged in old Santa Rita barrels. | 1999: 4,000 bottles. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot, 30% Syrah. Sourced from Antiyal Vineyard and San Lorenzo Vineyard. Outstanding clarity, depth and freshness. Complex fruit.
