Cantenac is one of five communes in the Haut-Médoc on the left bank of the Bordeaux region entitled to the Margaux AOC. Red wines may also be bottled under the Haut-Médoc AOC or Médoc AOC denominations.

Wine style: ‘Most Cantenac is a coarser wine than classic Margaux,’ (Hugh Johnson (Wine Companion: 1991, p.53).
