Fronsac AOC is a red wine only appellation covering seven communes west of Pomerol on the right bank of the Bordeaux region, the larger of two appellations in the Fronsac area or Fronsadais, the other being Canon-Fronsac AOC.

Wine style: ‘Good-value, finely structured, Merlot-based wines, better with at least 5 years’ age,’ (Oz Clarke: 2015, p.125).

Wine production: 2002 32,571 hl of Fronsac from 843 hectares (CIVB).
