Umbrella Pine, or Stone Pine (Pinus pinea) has an umbrella-shaped crown and big, rounded cones (c. 10 x 10cm) with large edible seeds. In the Mediterranean it is often planted near the sea. In contrast to other conifers the needles of Pines (Pinus) are in clusters of two, three, five or even eight.
